Cha Dae Woong (Lee Seung Gi) is a spoiled brat and wants to be an action movie star. After a particular tantrum with his grandfather, he releases a 500-year-old spirit. Gu Mi Ho (Shin Min Ah) is a nine-tailed fox who has unspeakable powers. After being released Mi Ho helps Dae Woong when he gets injured in the woods and Mi Ho heals him by giving her a few her spiritual powers. It is then that Dae Woong uses Mi Ho’s powers to make his action stunts more spectacular, and Mi Ho wants to learn how to be human. It is soon realized that Dae Woong is falling for the nine-tailed fox, but Gu Mi Ho has a secret about herself within the human world.

My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tailed Fox is such a hilarious and adorable comedy! Just from the name itself, it can only ensure that it is something entertaining to watch. Shin Min Ah is charming and adorable playing a spirit that is trying to act human and Lee Seung Gi acts a spoiled brat well. Together Min Ah and Seung Gi have such a chemistry between the two of them that reminds me of a summer love that feels like it will last forever.

Oh Mal Soon (Na Moon Hee) is a 74-year-old widowed grandmother who is living with her son and his wife. Mal Soon is proud of her son, Hyun Chul, whom she raised on her own, but butts heads with his wife, Ae Ja. When Hyun Chul tells Mal Soon that she can no longer live in the house with Ae Ja, he tells Mal Soon that he is sending her to a nursing home.

As Mal Soon wanders around after being told she has to move to a nursing home, she discovers a photo studio that claims to take an image of the most youthful time in one’s life. Entering the studio to get her own picture taken for her ‘future funeral’, she leaves the studio with the face of a young 20-year-old!

Now a young faced Oh Mal Soon goes about living as a young girl again and takes on a new name, Oh Doo Ri (Shim Eun Kyung), inspired by her favorite actress, Audrey Hepburn. Seen as a 20 year old girl Doo Ri finds new love and starts to live more boldly than before.

Miss Granny is a heart-warming film that makes you laugh and want to show it to everyone you know. Shim Eun Kyung is hilarious and portrays a young woman with an old spirit so well and makes you want to root for her as the film presents challenges to her. I recommend this to anyone that wants to watch a feel good movie that has both comedic scenes as well as some emotional ones.

Gil Ra Im (Ha Ji Won) is a passionate stunt woman who has a love for music, specifically a musician by the name of Oska. Kim Joo Won (Hyun Bin) is an arrogant and cold heir to a large company. When Joo Won meets Ra Im he is fascinated by her strength and beauty. As romance blossoms between the two, something magical happens and Joo Won and Ra Im switch bodies! Having to learn more about each other to pass as one another’s identities, both learn more about the other and start to fall in love.

This is one of the classic KDrama’s I can think of. The mix of romance, drama and a bit of magic give this show a fantasy-like theme. The strange sudden magic of Ra Im and Joo Won switching bodies changes the story completely and gives it a unique twist to a familiar body-switching story. But Secret Garden is a charming romance story between two people from different backgrounds who learn to understand each other.

Goblin

Hello, DramaSpot readers!

This week I am recommending the Supernatural-Romantic drama: Goblin.
Starring Gong Yoo, Kim Go Eun, Lee Dong Wook, Yoo In Na, and Yook Sung Jae.

Watch it on DramaFever, Viki, and KissAsian.

Kim Tan (Gong Yoo) is a mythical and immortal ‘Goblin’ who has the power to protect souls and change ones’ destiny. For over 900 years Kim Tan has had to watch those he love’s die around him as he continues to live. It has been fated that the only way a ‘Goblin’ can die is by finding the ‘Goblin Bride’. Ji Eun Tak (Kim Go Gun) is a quirky high schooler who was gifted with the ability to see ghosts since she was young. When Eun Tak is discovered to be the ‘Goblin’s Bride’, Kim Tan is ready to die; but when he starts to have romantic feelings for Eun Tak he finds he has a new reason to live.

Goblin seems like it has such a romantic and heartbreaking story. Just by the cast alone, I can already tell that this drama is going to have an interesting storyline the whole run and there will be many tears in my future. I recommend this to anyone who has watched or is interested in Coffee Prince and The Master’s Sun. Even though this is a ‘supernatural’ drama it seems to be more of a love story than anything.
