Cha Dae Woong (Lee Seung Gi) is a spoiled brat and wants to be an action movie star. After a particular tantrum with his grandfather, he releases a 500-year-old spirit. Gu Mi Ho (Shin Min Ah) is a nine-tailed fox who has unspeakable powers. After being released Mi Ho helps Dae Woong when he gets injured in the woods and Mi Ho heals him by giving her a few her spiritual powers. It is then that Dae Woong uses Mi Ho’s powers to make his action stunts more spectacular, and Mi Ho wants to learn how to be human. It is soon realized that Dae Woong is falling for the nine-tailed fox, but Gu Mi Ho has a secret about herself within the human world.

My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tailed Fox is such a hilarious and adorable comedy! Just from the name itself, it can only ensure that it is something entertaining to watch. Shin Min Ah is charming and adorable playing a spirit that is trying to act human and Lee Seung Gi acts a spoiled brat well. Together Min Ah and Seung Gi have such a chemistry between the two of them that reminds me of a summer love that feels like it will last forever.

Kim Bok Joo (Lee Sung Kyung) is a college athlete, specifically a weightlifter. Even though she can lift heavy weights, she is kind and ambitious, only wanting people to do the good thing. Jung Joon Hyung (Nam Joo Hyuk) is a competitive swimmer, who because of a traumatic past competition has become less free spirited and serious when it comes to swimming. When Bok Joo and Joon Hyung meet after she returns his lost handkerchief, Joon Hyung remembers meeting Bok Joo years ago after she saved his life.

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo has been a hit drama these past few months. With its hilarious cast and witnessing Lee Sung Kyung lifting so many heavy objects but having awkward moments around boys, this drama is not only cute but also inspirational for young girls who look up to a ‘weightlifting fairy’.

Uncontrollably Fond

Welcome, DramaSpot readers!

This week I am recommending the romantic drama: Uncontrollably Fond.
Starring Kim Woo Bin, Bae Su Ji, Im Ju Hwan, Jin Kyung, Lee Seo Won, and Ryu Won.
Written by Lee Kyung Hee, this 20 episode series aired in 2016.
Watch it on DramaFever, Viki, and KissAsian.

'Uncontrollably Fond' Stills

No Eul (Bae Su Ji) and Shin Joon Young (Kim Woo Bin) were in a relationship as teenagers until they are suddenly separated. Years later No Eul is now a TV producer and Joon Young has become a top Hallyu star with an arrogant personality. When No Eul is assigned to produce a documentary on Joon Young the two have a second chance encounter as adults and cannot deny the spark between them.

Uncontrollably Fond was the talk of the KDrama world because of Kim Woo Bin and Suzy who are both big named stars in South Korea. The second chance romance between the two leads and the love-hate relationship they have are common tropes in drama that keep the viewers watching and wanting more!

Click Your Heart

This mini-series focuses on Min Ah (Kwon Min Ah) a social outcast, who draws the attention of four boys from different social circles but who are all equally interested in Min Ah. Ju Ho (Baek Ju Ho) is the tough guy – cold at first meeting until he get’s to know you, Ro Woon (Kim Ro Woon) the school’s basketball star, Cha Ni (Kang Cha Ni) whose passion is to dance, and Da Won (Lee Da Won) the school’s top student. Which guy will Min Ah choose? It’s up to the viewer!

Which guy will Min Ah choose? It’s up to the viewer! What’s so interesting about this particular drama is the idea behind eliminating the second lead syndrome. This occurs when watching a drama and the lead and the second lead are your preference but then you realize that the relationship will never happen. Click Your Heart eliminates this syndrome by being an online, interactive, choose your own ending; meaning that the viewer will never have a second lead syndrome if they are the ones choosing the ending! Drama fans will never have to worry about the lead ending up with the wrong guy anymore with this drama!

Madame Antoine

Hello, DramaSpot readers!

This week I am recommending the Romantic-Comedy: Madame Antoine.

Starring Han Ye Seul, Sung Joon, Jung Jin Woon, Hwang Seung Eun, and Lee Joo Hyung.
Written by Hong Jin Ah, this 16 episode series aired in 2015.
Watch it on DramaFever, Viki, Netflix, and KissAsian.

Go Hye Rim (Han Ye Seul) is a famous romance fortune-teller who has made a name for herself by claiming her ability has come from a connection to Marie Antoinette. But really Hye Rim’s ‘powers’ are just from her keen observational skills. Choi Soo Hyun (Sung Joon) is a skeptical psychotherapist who doesn’t believe in Hye Rim’s powers of finding true love, or true love in general. When Hye Rim offers her abilities to Soo Hyun’s psychological test, her career is put in jeopardy.

Madame Antoine is such an interesting idea for a drama. It has all the aspects of a usual romantic comedy with the two leads falling for each other, even if at first they aren’t fond of each other. Han Ye Seul and Sung Joon have such an interesting chemistry from a romantic perspective and a comedic sense. I recommend this to anyone who loves the idea of a ‘LoveHate’ relationship and those who are interested in the ideas of powers or abilities.

'My Wife's Having an Affair This Week' Promotion Photo

Do Hyun Woo (Lee Sun Gyun) has worked as a producer for television for the past 10 years. He believes that he has had a successful career and a happy, loving marriage. When he see’s on his wife, Jung Soo Yeon’s (Song Ji Hyo) phone a hotel reservation he becomes suspicious and paranoid that his wife is having an affair! Unsure of his suspicion he goes to an internet forum with the help of his lawyer friend and searches for an answer to if his wife is actually having an affair or he is just paranoid.

This is such a strange and hilarious show. I mean the first thing is just the title is so engaging and not what one would expect from a romantic comedy. But Lee Sun Gyun is hilarious and seems to just be a natural when it comes to comedic timing. I think this show perfectly encaptures the paranoia someone in a relationship can feel if they find something that they weren’t expecting.

Emergency Couple

Welcome DramaSpot readers!

This week I am recommending the drama: Emergency Couple.
Starring Choi Jin Hyuk, Song Ji Hyo, Lee Pil Mo, Choi Yeo Jin, Lee Sung Min, and Kwon Min.

Watch it on DramaFever, Viki, and KissAsian.

'Emergency Couple' Promotion Photo

Oh Chang Min (Choi Jin Hyuk) and Oh Jin Hee (Song Ji Hyo) were young and unaware of how harsh life could be when they got married. Living together Chang Min is working an unbearable job and Jin Hee is losing her hair from all the stress of living with Chang Min and fighting. When they divorce Chang Min goes back to his wealthy family while Jin Hee stays with her mother. Six years later both Chang Min and Jin Hee have gotten through medical school and end up meeting again when they learn they are both interning at the same hospital, specifically the emergency room. Forced to work together for three months, will Chang Min and Jin Hee’s romance kindle again?

This is such a dramatic show. There is the relationship drama between Chang Min and Jin Hee and meeting again and at the same time, there are so many medical mishaps occurring since they are in an emergency room. Fair warning some of the medical scenes can be a bit graphic and show blood, but it’s not too the extreme. But I think that this is a riveting drama that keeps you hooked from watching what will happen to each patient in the episode, as well as want to know if Chang Min and Jin Hee will end up together in the end.
